MyNews is web based interface that will allow you to read news from selected websites.

Navigation bar

Menus

The navigation bar displays the current position in the website tree. Levels are displayed as links to access to upper levels. The name of the current user is also displayed at the right of the navigation bar. If a MyNews public site has been defined, it allows to switch from private area to public area and vice versa.
This menu allows you to return to your homepage at any time. The user's home page displays the most recents news from websites the user has subscribed to.

This menu allows you to search for news. A search form allows you to enter some keywords. News that contain those keywords are displayed when you click on the button.

By default, MyNews searches for news that contain all keywords (and option). If you set the first option field to or, MyNews will search for news that contain at least one of the keywords.

By default, MyNews searches only in news title (Title only option). If you set the second option field to Title and body, MyNews will also search in news content.

MyNews search is contextual. For example, if you are displaying news from a particular website, and then you click on the Search menu, MyNews will search for news that comes from this website.

This menu allows you to display news from websites you haven't subscribed to. When you access to MyNews for the first time, you have no subscription. This menu allows you to select the websites you want to subscribe to by clicking on the websites icon.

This is an example of a news. News are extracted from websites and stored in database. News can have links to external websites. When you click on the title of the news in MyNews, you have access to the original news on the distant website. As extrancted news are generally shortcuts, you can have more information in the distant news.
